AAO institutional members were very busy in 2012 sharing archival
descriptions through the Archeion service. Over the course of the year more
than 6,500 descriptions were revised on the site and 3,771 new ones
published. 229 digital objects were added to Archeion and the site was
visited by more than 38,500 people.

A recent report into the research needs of historians* noted that "the
general consensus among interviewees was that more online finding aids would
greatly benefit their research."
Archeion provides a cost-effective way of sharing your finding aids and
digitized materials with potential users.

You can read more about last year's Archeion statistics on the AAO site at
http://aao-archivists.ca/archeion-coordinator/211-archeion-in-2012. I look
forward to working with all our Archeion contributors in 2013. If you're not
currently sharing information through Archeion and would like to find out
more about how your institution can use the service, please get in touch.

Happy New Year!

Amanda
