This is the third reminder notice for the Twenty-Fourth Conference of
the History of Economic Thought Society of Australia which is being
hosted by the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing in the College
of Business at Melbourne’s RMIT University. 

RMIT is one of Australia’s oldest universities and is situated in the
very centre of the city. 

The Conference will be held from the 6th to the 8th of July 2011 in
RMIT’s historic Emily Macpherson Building with an informal reception
the night before on the 5th of July. 

Papers on all areas of the History of Economics are welcome. Despite
all of the problems we historians of economics face, this is a growing
area and of major importance for economic theory. It is also of immense
intrinsic interest. 

We are very pleased that the distinguished scholar and immediate past
President of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought,
Cristina Marcuzzo, will give the keynote address.

Please note that the formal deadline for submission of abstracts is
mid-May. It was previously stated that abstracts were sought by March
but the deadline has been extended to 15 May. Final papers are due by 15
June.

I will merely note that there are two major themes in this conference
but this fact should not constrain anyone from submitting a paper on any
aspect of the history of economics. The first of these themes is the
role of the history of economics within economics itself and then,
secondly, a Retrospective and Prospective on Keynes to commemorate the
75th anniversary of the publication of his General Theory in 1936.
