AAOLIST subscribers,

The following message is forwarded from ARCAN-L. The fact that CCA has been invited to make this presentation is encouraging evidence that advocacy is making a difference. If you have not already done so, please take time soon to write to your MP, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and the Librarian and Archivist of Canada.

Subject: CCA Appearance before the Standing Committee on Finance

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce that the Canadian Council of Archives (CCA) will
appear as a witness to the Standing Committee on Finance as part of the
Pre-budget Consultations. This, we believe, is a first for the archival
community.

CCA will appear on November 22nd, 2004, Culture 3 Panel from 12:00 pm to
13:30 (Ottawa time). This meeting will be televised on CPAC and will be
available at www.cpac.ca.

A copy of CCA's presentation will be available early next week at
www.cdncouncilarchives.ca.

Sincerely,
Christina Nichols
Executive Director
Canadian Council of Archives

~~~~~
Cher(e)s collègues,
Il me fait plaisir de vous annoncer que le Conseil canadien des archives
(CCA) se présentera devant le Comité permanent des finances en tant que
témoin lors des Consultations pré-budgétaires. C'est, nous croyons, une
première pour la communauté archivistique.
Le CCA paraîtra le 22 novembre 2004 de 12h00 à 13h30 (Heure de l'Est) au
sein du panel de la culture numéro 3. La réunion sera présenté à la
télévision sur la chaîne CPAC. Elle sera également disponible sur leur site
www.cpac.ca.
Une copie de la présentation du CCA sera disponible au début de la semaine
prochaine sur notre site www.cdncouncilarchives.ca.
Sincèrement,
Christina Nichols
Directrice exécutive
Conseil canadien des archives
