* MORE REGISTRANTS NEEDED FOR ARCHEION WORKSHOPS *

March 23-24, 2002 in Kingston (so far: 3 people)
April 20-21, 2002 in Thunder Bay (so far: 1 person)

DEADLINE TO REGISTER (both workshops): March 1st, 2002

This workshop is designed to assist AAO Institutional members with
participation in ARCHEION, Ontario's Archival Information Network, by:
  - familiarizing archivists with ARCHEION
  - giving archivists information they need to submit descriptions to
ARCHEION
  - assisting archivists in knowing what the responsibilities of the
participating institutions are with regards to ARCHEION
  - giving some basic information about Encoded Archival Description (EAD)
within the context of ARCHEION
  - raising archivist's comfort level with RAD's use at the fonds level
  - providing guidance on acceptable descriptive practices in ARCHEION
  - providing some information on authority control and creation of headings
using RAD Part II.

Instructors: Loren Fantin & Bob Krawcyzk

The ARCHEION Workshop is free for the designated institution representative.
Additional delegates must pay $125.00 to attend. Please note that there is a
strong possibility that we will not be able to offer this course for free in
the future.
