Every year the Faculty of Information Studies (FIS)
Professional Development Committee organizes a Resume
Clinic to provide FIS students with resume writing tips
and constructive criticism about their resumes from
professionals in the field. We are looking for
library, archive, and information systems professionals
to participate as critiquers in this year’s upcoming
event.
The Resume Clinic will take place on Friday, February
11, 2005. As a critiquer, you and a student will
discuss his or her resume during a 20-minute critiquing
session. Due to popular demand, this year’s clinic will
occur throughout the entire day, with critiquers having
the option of volunteering their time for the morning,
afternoon, or both sessions. The itinerary is as
follows:
TIME EVENT
10am Welcome
10:15am Critiquing session #1
10:40am Critiquing session #2
11:05am Critiquing session #3
11:25am Critiquing session #4
11:50am Critiquing session #5
12:15-1:30pm Lunch (provided)
1:30pm Critiquing session #6
1:55pm Critiquing session #7
2:20pm Critiquing session #8
2:45pm Critiquing session #9
3:10pm Critiquing session #10
The participation of an established information
professional such as yourself in events such as the
Resume Clinic have proven to be hugely influential for
students concerned about future employment. We would
be most grateful if you would consider participating.
If you are interested in volunteering as a critiquer,
please contact Shelley Respondek, Chair of the
Professional Development Committee at
