THE SECOND ANNUAL
POST-GRADUATE
ECONOMICS CONFERENCE
With the support of the Post Keynesian Study Group
Bodington Hall, University of Leeds, UK
Friday 7th November 1997
This conference is the initiative of a group of PhD students at
Leeds University, and has attracted speakers and participants
from all parts of the UK as well as from Brazil, the USA, Europe and
Russia.
It is designed to provide a unique opportunity to present and discuss
PhD research, and to stimulate debate between different schools of
economic thought.
Both post-graduate students and established researchers are invited to
attend. The conference will address the following themes:
-The Economics of Work and Employment
including papers on analysing the local labour market, policies for
full employment, theories of capitalist production
-Methodology
including papers on neo-institutional economics, critical realist
perspectives on economics
-Technology and Innovation
including papers on financing research and development, uncertainty
and new technology
-Monetary Economics
including papers on new approaches to monetary theory, monetary policy
in transitional and developing economies
The keynote address will be given by Geoff Harcourt (Cambridge)
