Hello Twain ListServ:
Is anyone aware of significant research done on the subject of Huckleberry
Finn’s character in regard his relationship to girls, romance, marriage,
etc? I’m looking at any of the “Huck stories” (*Tom Sawyer*, *Huckleberry
Finn*, *Tom Sawyer Abroad*, *Tom Sawyer Detective,* or *Huck and Tom Among
the Indians*).
Or tangentially, any research related to interpretations of Becky Thatcher.
I’m also interested in instances of Becky appearing in the
literary/cultural works of others (for instance, she is mentioned in Bob
Dylan’s autobiography *Chronicles Vol. 1*, Vachel Lindsey’s “Kalamzoo,” and
Will Vinton’s 1985 film *The Adventures Of Mark Twain*).

Thanks,
Ed Shannon
