HES Dorfman dissertation award: second call for nominations
The History of Economics Society is accepting nominations for its annual
JOSEPH DORFMAN BEST DISSERTATION AWARD for dissertations in the history of
economic thought and economic methodology. In memory of Joseph Dorfman,
historian of economic thought and Distinguished Fellow of the History of
Economics Society, his family endowed a permanent fund for the award. The
winner will receive a stipend of $500 plus travel expenses up to $500 to
attend the presentation at the Society's annual conference (June 25-28,
2010, at Syracuse University).
All dissertations in the history of economic thought and economic
methodology that are written in English and completed during the previous
academic year (September 2008 to August 2009) are eligible. The selection
committee considers only nominated dissertations. A list of past recipients
can be found at http://historyofeconomics.org/awards/dorfman.htm.
The selection committee comprises Stephen Meardon (chair), Peter Boettke,
and Malcolm Rutherford. To nominate a dissertation for the award, please
notify Stephen Meardon ([log in to unmask]) by December 15, 2009. Please
also send a copy of the dissertation in either pdf (preferred) or hard copy.
