Dear colleagues,

By limiting our activities the virus has allowed us to read more.
I am very grateful for the papers received recently which strengthen my optimism in the great ability of Economists.
In a very short span of time I discovered
two ‘giants’, Buchanan and Tullock (hpe  New Economics Papers on History and Philosophy of Economics
issue of 2020‒03‒23),
one ’titan’, Robert Gallman (review dated March 25 2020),
a ‘visionary’, Henri Fayol (hpe  New Economics Papers on History and Philosophy of Economics
issue of today). I was always fond of the French way of handling administrative things and am glad to discover its creator.
To be told today that Cantillon was the first ‘modern economist’ was a surprising anti-climax. I had expected Cantillon to be a 
pygmy, as Quesnay, Turgot and Adam Smith.
