According to Barnum books, Twain often stayed at P.T. Barnum's home
and even had a room named after him. Does anyone know any more
about this? And did Twain ever speak or write about Barnum?

Joe Vitale

See article by Hamlin Hill, "MT, Bridgeport and CY," _American Quarterly_,
16 (Winter 1964), 615-616. Also Twain and Barnum corresponded during the
1870's. See Union Catalogue of MT Letters (U of Calif Press). "A Curious
Pleasure Excursion" in --Sketches New & Old_ also conn. with Barnum.
