While I'm glad to see Clemens running around on tleevision (I
can't backspace, so bear with my fumbling fingers), I had a
queasy feeling after watching the Star Trek: The Next Generation
episodes with the crew in the 19th century ("Time's Arrow," parts
1 and 2).

SLC appears with a full head of white hair and a mustache, the icon
most people know and love .  However, Clemens never returned to
San Francisco, the setting of the story, after 1868 (explicitly
mentioned in David Carkeet's _I Been There Before_, p. 69).
He wold have been 33 at the time, not white with age...
