So much to learn yet.  I may have to admit that Twain may have had
racist views in his early years but abandoned them as he became more
educated, a characteristic that renders him an even greater than man
my earlier opinions about his stellar humanism. I suspect most on
this list serve are strong admirers of Twain and are already familiar
with the links below. I do have to add though that calling Twain
racist against the French is strange; Critic yes. If criticism is a
synonymous with racism then I am currently a racist against the
United States because I abhor her current policies. Will somebody
explain better Twains racism against the French?
