Again there is a numismatic item of Twainy interest to bring
to your attention.
 
The current issue of "Coin World" contains an ad for some
recent Chinese coins, one featuring our subject. The ad says
that "only 30,000 of each legal tender proof 38.6 mm coin
was minted from 27 gm of Sterling silver," which makes it
slightly larger and heavier than a U.S. Silver Dollar coin,
with more net silver content.
 
The Mark Twain coin, minted in '91, shows Twain sitting in
the ubiquitous rocker, with an open book and a riverboat in
the background. And, being legal tender, of course it bears
Chinese inscriptions around the rim, in addition to "Mark
Twain 1835-1910" in English. The coins are $39.95 each, plus
