This may be old news to all or most of you, but Taylor Roberts' post about
the recorded 'The Diaries of Adam & Eve' (which are moving and hugely
entertaining, by the way) prompts me to put in a word for the Audio Editions
productions of 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' (1995) and 'The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn' (1999).
Erin Lee at Audio Partners Publishing (Auburn, CA) contacted me to offer
review copies of both, and though I'm not usually a fan of recorded books, I
must say I've been surprised and delighted at their quality. Both are
performed -- not just read, but *performed* -- with remarkable verve, wit
and authority and by Patrick Fraley, a veteran voice-over actor who manages
to conjure up exactly the right voice and dialect for just about every
character and situation.
If you're interested, the cassettes can be ordered from the publisher's
Website, http://www.audiopartners.com.
Best wishes to all for a happy and prosperous new year!
