To Aiko Ikeo:
I am one of the few Americans living in Taiwan. I could present an
interesting paper on the irrelevance of culture in economic development or one
on family ties in the "Chinese culture" along the lines of Janet Landa of York
University in Ontario. But I assume you want a Taiwanese person. And I am
very busy at the moment anyway.

You write a lot about negotiation. Do you mean an honorarium and/or
travel funds. If you can be a bit more specific regarding the financial
arrangements I will be happy to circulate your request to the various
institutes and parties I think might be interested.
