My but it's been quiet on the HES BBS.   
     Here's a review of the events aimed at teaching the history of economics 
at the annual meeting of the H.E.S.  Much of Sunday, June 4, is aimed at 
teaching.  Throughout the day there will be Poster Sessions on "One Good Idea 
for Teaching the History of Economic Thought that I's Like to Share."  This 
will be set up in the dining area, where all the meals and refreshment breaks 
will take place, and the publishers' displays are set up.  If you have an 
idea for a poster, contact Jerry Evensky at Syracuse University  
(e-mail -- [log in to unmask]).  During the 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. session, 
Murray Wolfson (Cal. State, Fullerton) will give a demonstration of "Using the 
Arts as an Aid in Teaching the History of Economic Thought" in the A-V Theater.  
During the 10:30 - 12:30 session, we have the "Workshop on the Teaching of the 
History of Economic Thought."  This will start off with a short presentation by 
Jose Cardoso (Portugal), editor of the *European Journal of the H.E.T.* 
presenting the results of his "Survey on Teaching H.E.T."  The Workshop itself 
features some of our best young talent -- Avi Cohen (York University), Brad 
Bateman (Grinnell College), Zohreh Emami (Alverno College) and Ross Emmett  
(Augustana University College) with Jerry Evensky moderating.  The lunch break 
will feature an "Open Microphone," for anyone to share "One Good Idea for  
Teaching H.E.T."   
     Bring us your most successful teaching idea, and hopefully, we will all 
come away energized by the experience.

at the 22nd annual meeting of the H.E.S (University of Notre Dame, June 2 - 5, 
1995).
