     Before the English colonies, New France had `paper money' that 
worked.  Certainly the Boston colonies would have been aware of this. 
And what of John Law in France?  What we call globalization of the 
information environment began when Henry the Navigator set out along 
the African coast.  Better, When Macro Polo went to China.
