Not for the first or the tenth time, I fervently agree with Wes Britton.

Humorless discourse about Mark Twain belongs in the same crap pile with
textbooks on writing produced by academics who write like academics.

Wes's notion that Twain might prefer Hulk Hogan's company to ours
reminded me of that delicious and vicious poem, "The Scholars," where
Yeats sketches professors at their worst, and then contrasts the drab,
correct scholars with their pet author--

                Lord, what would they say
                Did their Catullus walk that way?
