Dear Chuck,

IMHO, I believe "Jumping Frog" would have been prevalent enough to be
referred to in _Silas_. After all, it made Twain famous in a short space
of
time. On a lighter note, the story was actually part of the plot in last
week's episode of "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman"!

Beth
