Hi,

My name is Lisa. I am doing a high school research project on Mark Twain--
specifically, his views on slavery and African Americans. From what I've
read, he shows respect and concern, but does not appear to be totally
against
slavery; "It's just the way things are."

Does anyone have any references of Mark Twain directly expressing his
opinion
on this subject?

Lisa,
