i'm not too shure, but it is a really scary thought. in a day and age when
the president is proposing to censor free speech on the internet, and
ranting over a v-chip that will censor television. and the vice president's
wife and
the PMRC wanted soooo bad to outlaw music that THEY thought was bad, but
only got away with censoring artists by slapping a sticker on the front of
their albums. I think it is only a matter of time before "Huckleberry Finn"
is
thrown out of the education system's libraries and, quite possibly, the rest
of the libraries.
the fact of the matter is...
if you start banning/censoring my art (books, music, paintings, etc...)
today
i will be able to do the same to you tomorrow. chances are, if you dislike
how
i express myself then, i, more than likely, am not too fond of the way you
express yourself. today it's 'huck finn' tomorrow it will be religions.
i know i'm probably preachin' to the choir.
