The Hartford Courant, with assistance from the Mark Twain Memorial,
has put an extensive exhibit online about Mark Twain's time in
Hartford. It is *very* well done, with excellent graphics (they were
successful in getting the site to look great without huge graphics so
it loads quickly) and very good content content. It is divided into
four main sections: The Man, The Writer, His World, and Twain
Today. In these, there are numerous photographs of the
exterior and interior of the Hartford house, the family,
contemporaries (both friends and family servants), and on the Mark
Twain Memorial (with a section about John Boyer, for those of you who
know him -- or don't yet) and up-coming Twain events in Hartford.
There are also contemporary news stories from the Courant's files, a
biographical sketch, a chronology, and more. Definitely worth a
look.
