Harold - The ms is held by MT Papers. If I remember correctly, it was written as a response to an attempt to ban "Leaves of Grass" specifically. It exposes the absurdity of banning ribald modern work against a background of respected, yet more ribald, classic works. The relative dates are not in my head at the moment, but I wonder if WW's Controversy inspired Twain's "1601."
