======================= HES POSTING ====================

         YMCA's were a location for some of this activity. For
         example, Alvin Hansen gave regular public lectures (to
         supplement his income) while he was writing his thesis and
         lecturing at Brown. Socialism was one of the topics, but
         they were all on various social problems.

         Chataqua-type summer schools were also common locations.
