Minimum Requirements:
Education: A University degree to the Master's level in one of the health
professions, library, information or computer sciences. An advanced degree
at the Ph.D. level in one of these professions would be an asset.
Experience: A combination of 15 years of progressively more responsible
national and international experience in the health and information
sectors. Experience should include managerial responsibilities involving
research, education, in-service training, information dissemination,
library administration, international development or other health
information management related programs or activities.
Languages: Very good knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish or English, and a
working knowledge of the other two languages.

CHEA seeks an International Development Program Manager

The Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) is seeking an International
Development Program Manager. Duties include preparing funding proposals and
liaising with CIDA, overseas partners, Canadian committees, and national
associations. Qualifications: university degree in home economics or a
related area; developing country experience; experience working with
volunteers; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (in
both official languages), and experience in program planning and

Update on International Policy Courses
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Center for Social Policy and Institutional Development (CSPID)
World Learning/School for International Training is accepting applications
for the following training opportunities:

1) International Policy Advocacy (IPA), a four-week intensive course
designed to provide a practical, hands-on approach to learning the key
advocacy concepts and skills NGOs need to influence policies of the UN,
World Bank and other international institutions, as well as the agencies of
the U.S. Government concerned with global policies. The course will be held
from June 6-July 3, 1997 in Washington, D.C., New York City, and at the
School for International Training in Vermont.

2) Policy Studies Semester (PSS), a 14-week program combining
individualized instruction and classes concerned with research and analysis
of policy issues.  The course runs from February 13 to May 15, 1997.

Call for Abstracts for the 8th International Congress of the World
Federation of Public Health Association

The Tanzania Public Health Association will host the 8th International
Congress of the World Federation of Public Health Associations from October
12-16, 1997 in Arusha, Tanzania. The theme is "Health in Transition:
Opportunities and Challenges." Abstracts must be submitted no later than
