Basic Salary: $45,413 at single rate; $48,824 with primary dependents (per
annum net of taxes); Post Adjustment: $13,442 at single rate; $14,452 with

Minimum Requirements: Education: A university degree in a health related
profession and a Master's degree in epidemiology or public health. An M.D.
or a postgraduate degree in a health related profession would be an asset.
Experience at national level: Seven years of experience with progressively
greater responsibilities in the administration of prevention and control
programs on commmunicable diseases, including program organization,
management, supervision and implementation, academic and clinical
experience in infectious and parasitic diseases, as well as experience in
the development of human resources at all levels in disease prevention and
control. Experience at international level: Two years of participation in
technical cooperation programs and activities for the development of
communicable disease prevention and control programs in countries of the
region.
Languages: Very good knowledge of English or Spanish, with a working
knowledge of the other.

Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science,
engineering, mathematics or related field of study.
Experience: Five years of experience in the application of information
processing techniques in the solution of moderately complex problems
involving general computer system programming.
Skills: The incumbent must be able to apply sound system programming
principles and techniques toward the solution of assigned problems. While
the work is generally supervised by senior staff members, the incumbent is
expected to suggest alternatives and make recommendations for improving the
computerized systems involved in their assigned projects.
Languages: Very good knowledge of English.

CSIH seeks Project Assistant and Field Manager for new Bolivia project
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Canadian Society for International Health seeks a Project Assistant and
a Field Manager for its new "Building Capacity for Health Reform" Bolivia
Project. Requirements for the Ottawa-based Project Assistant include: an
undergraduate degree in social sciences or health, or equivalent;
administrative experience; excellent organizing, interpersonal and writing
skills; fluency in English and Spanish (French an asset); familiarity with
Word, Excel and e-mail applications.

Based in La Paz, Bolivia, the Field Manager is responsible for planning and
managing CSIH's "Building Capacity for Health Reform" project in Bolivia,
managing CSIH's field office, providing technical support to the project,
and representing CSIH to stakeholders in Bolivia. Requirements: Master's
degree in health or social sciences, or the equivalent; experience in
international health, including substantial project management experience
in Latin America; sound and practical knowledge of Canada's health system
and resources; fluency in Spanish and English (French a definite asset);
very good health; capacity and willingness to travel frequently and to work
long and/or irregular hours; Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. Two-year
contract to begin ASAP. Competitive salary plus benefits.

Chinese sociologist seeks Canadian assistance with research study
