Post Title: Advisor on Environmental Health; Level: P.4; Post Number:
.5113; Duty Station: Asuncion, Paraguay; Tenure: Two years, first year
probationary period; Division/Program/Office: Health and Environment (HEP)

Basic Salary: $48,019 at single rate; $51,597 with primary dependents (per
annum net of taxes). Post Adjustment: $9,604 at single rate; $10,319 with
primary dependents (per annum net of taxes).
Hardship/Mobility: $2,145 at single rate; $2,860 with primary dependents
(per annum net of taxes).

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of science degree in sanitary, environmental or civil
engineering or environmental sciences (biology or ecology), with a Master's
degree in public health, sanitary or environmental engineering or
environmental sciences (biology or ecology).
Experience: At national level: Seven years of progressively more
responsible experience in positions in public health and/or environmental
health, workers' health, water supply and sanitation, or promotion and
protection of environmental quality.
At international level: Two years of participation in technical cooperation
programs and activities in health and the environment in developing
countries of the region.
Languages: Very good knowledge of Spanish with a working knowledge of
English.

WHO seeks Media Relations Officer for Global Tuberculosis Programme
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Global Tuberculosis Programme of the World Health Organization (WHO),
based in Geneva, is seeking an experienced public relations specialist to
coordinate media relations activities, publicize major reports, and
organize highly visible World TB Day campaigns and events around the world.

Requirements: Five years experience conducting media relations on health,
development, or social issues; international campaign coordination
experience, persuasive writing abilities; team work, problem-solving abi
lities, and good political judgment; a university degree. Monthly
Remuneration: approximately USD 6,000 tax-free (salary plus post
adjustment, subject to fluctuation. Opportunity exists for extensive
international travel. Tenure: 11 months, subject to renewal. Deadline for
