2 Positions: Intervention Coordinator, wellworks
The Center for Community Based Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
announces TWO positions for Intervention Coordinators for WellWorks, a
research study funded by the National Cancer Institute.  In WellWorks, a
health promotion intervention entitled Program A, which addresses smoking
and nutrition, will be compared to Program B, an intervention which
integrates health protection (exposure to hazardous materials) and health
promotion (smoking and nutrition).  This study will be conducted in 17
worksites throughout Massachusetts.

A full-tiime intervention coordinator is sought to deliver the Program B
intervention at assigned worksites.  A part time intervention coordinator
is sought to deliver the Program A intervention.  The job responsibilities
and required education and experience follow.

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC DUTIES
Assist in the development of protocol for project activities related to the
intervention.
Coordinate survey administration at the workoites.
organize and train employee committees representing diverse sectors of
companies (such as
management and labor) to assist in planning and delivering the
intervention.
Coordinate and implement the intervention targeting individual behavior
change (e.g.
conducting worksite-wide campaigns, facilitating group discussions, leading
classes, etc.)
Coordinate and implement the intervention targeting the workiaite
environment (e.g. providing
consultation on worksite policies on tobacco control, food services, and
health and safety).
Serve as the primary contact between study investigators, consultants,
staff, and worksites for
worksite interventions,
Maintain required documentation on intervention activities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

·       A MPH or Ms in occupational health, community/public health, health
education, nursing, or other related field.
·       Two years experience working in public health research and education
projects focusing on providing nutrition, smoking cessation, and/or health
and safety programs at worksites.  Experience working in manufacturing
worksites and/or with blue collar workers preferred.
·       Proven organizational and leadership skills
·       Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Must be able to work
and communicate with project staff and collaborators, Dana-Farber staff,
and diverse worksite populations, including management and labor.
·       Flexibility to be able to work different shifts.  Most work will be on
let shift, but some will be on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
·       Spanish and Portuguese language skills a plus.
·       Current valid driver's license and personal automobile are necessary for
travel to study sites.
