================== HES POSTING ========================
HESers:
As you may be aware from an earlier posting, EH.Net has begun to handle
book reviews. The EH.Net book review editor, Robert Whaples, has arranged
a number of book reviews for release in the near future, including the
reviews of the following books:
Angus Maddison, _Monitoring the World Economy, 1820-1992_
Douglas Irwin, _Against the Tide: An Intellectual History of Free Trade_
Glenn Fisher, _The Worst Tax? A History of the Property Tax in America_ and
Robert Weir, _Beyond Labor's Veil: A Cultural History of the Knights of Labor_
If you are interested in receiving these (and future) reviews as they
become available, please inform Sam Williamson, executive director of
EH.Net <[log in to unmask]>. Sam is establishing a email list for EH.Net
book reviews. The reviews will also be posted on several of the EH.Net
lists and placed in the Economic History Services web site:
http://cs.muohio.edu/
Because of our current obligations and plans, the HES editors have decided
not to pursue reviews at this time. However, we will post EH.Net reviews
of interest to historians of economics (for example, we plan to post the
review of Doug Irwin's book), and if any HESers want to post a book review
to the list, we will welcome it, and would pass it on for inclusion in the
EH.Net archive of reviews.
Remember, if you want to receive the reviews regularly, contact Sam
Williamson <[log in to unmask]>.
The HES editorial team: Ross Emmett, Esther-Mijam Sent, Bert Barreto, and
Paul Wendt
