CALL FOR PAPERS: "The Overlooked and Lesser Known Twain" (deadline:
3/31/02; conference dates: 11/15-17/02).
This call for papers is for the Mark Twain Circle of America session at
the South Atlantic Modern Language Association (SAMLA) annual
convention, to be held in Baltimore, MD, at the Wyndham Baltimore Inner
Harbor, November 15-17, 2002.
Papers should explore or elucidate the value of Twain's overlooked or
lesser known works, including, but not necessarily limited to, the
following:
-Books, such as _Christian Science_ and _Personal Recollections of Joan
of Arc_
-Essays, sketches, stories, or speeches (overlooked or lesser known!!)
-Published interviews
-Letters
-Poetry
Papers should be limited to 20 minutes. Proposals or abstracts (150-300
words) should be sent to Joe Alvarez by March 31, 2002:
