There are 7 chapters on the Phillips Machine plus photos and the famous Punch cartoon in
A.W.H Phillips: Collected Works in Contemporary Perspective Cambridge: Cambridge
University Press) 2000. Walter Newlyn and David Vines provide a description of the
Machine, Nick Barr provides a history, Graeme
Dorrance and Dick Goodwin provide personal reminiscences and Doron Swade (Senior Curator
at the Science Museum, London) discusses the place of the Machine in the history of
computing. The Science Museum has an original Machine, plus a video of it in operation.
The LSE also have a video of James Meade discussing the Machine. Several other places
have Machines on display (some Universities have Machines languishing in cellars).
