That's Paine's edition of _Mark Twain's Autobiography_.  Not Paine's
_Mark Twain: A Biography_.  Clemens, in '77, remembers chickens at ten
cents apiece, contrasting with Hartford's "a dollar to a dollar and a
half apiece, according to weight."
