Portions of the 1997 State of Mark Twain Studies Conference, organized
by the Elmira College Center for Mark Twain Studies, will air Saturday,
July 11, 1998 on C-SPAN 2 beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET.  The panel "Mark
Twain's Politics" will appear on C-SPAN 2's About Books.  The featured
panel was recorded live on the last day of the three day international
quadrennial conference.  The taped panel will be replayed three hours
later - Sunday, July 12 at 12:45 a.m. - again on C-SPAN 2.
