last minute scurrying around for the Elmira Conference:

does anyone have any thoughts regarding MT and William Jennings Bryan?  This
guy was quite the rhetorical savant;  as one biographer put it, "[WJB]
single-handedly kept liberalism alive in America"  (this may blow your
caricatures of Bryan, famously ruined in the film and drama, INHERIT THE
WIND).

Anyway, I know he claimed not to favor voting for Bryan in 1900-- any other
evidence of MT commenting on Bryan?
