Breakfast meeting for Discussion of Proposed CIDA
Strategy on "Population, Reproductive Health and
Sustainable Development"
--------------------------------------------------------
Carol Vlassoff, CIDA Senior Specialist, Population and
Reproductive Health, is initiating consultations
supporting the development of a policy paper on
Population, Reproductive Health and Sustainable
Development. A consultation approach similar to that
used for the Strategy for Health is being developed. It
is hoped that a draft document will be ready for
distribution at the Fifth Canadian Conference for
International Health, November 15-18, 1998, in Ottawa -
Hull.

Profiting from the presence of various people in Ottawa
at the occasion of the Congress of Social Sciences and
Humanities (formerly the Learneds), we are organizing an
informal breakfast discussion on the issues that need to
be addressed in this strategy. Dr. Vlassoff will be in
attendance and the session will be facilitated by Janet
Hatcher Roberts, Executive Director, CSIH, and Roderic
Beaujot, Coordinator, Population and Development
Committee of the Federation of Canadian Demographers.
The scheduling of this breakfast is dependent on the
level of interest, so please let [log in to unmask]
know if you are intending to come.

Time: 4 June, 7:30-9:00am, Art 215 (Arts Building,
University of Ottawa).
