Subject: AAO Conference in Toronto

Dear Archival Colleagues:

Because of concerns about SARS, the Archives Association of Ontario has
received
questions about the status of our June conference. We share your concern and
have been monitoring developments on SARS. We want you to know that the
AAO's
10th Annual Conference will continue as planned at St. Michael's University
College in Toronto, 9-11 June 2003.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our members, speakers,
exhibitors,
and other conference attendees. Health Canada has provided strong assurances
that Toronto is a safe city to visit and that the risk to Canadian travelers
coming to Toronto remains extremely low. SARS cases in Ontario have occurred
in
persons who have traveled to Asia or involve health care workers and close
family contacts of suspect cases. Health Canada continues to encourage
travelers
to maintain their business and personal travel plans to the Greater Toronto
Area.

The AAO assures you that your safety is our priority. We are committed to
offering you the best in professional development and the invaluable
opportunity
to spend time with your archival colleagues. We hope you’ll join us in
Toronto
this June.

Best Regards,
Loryl MacDonald
AAO President
