Dear Colleagues,
The Guided Tour of Historic Fort York led by Carl Benn is almost upon us!
The date is Thursday May 20th -- the time 5:30 pm.
Join us for the insights of Carl Benn, Chief Curator of Toronto's Museum and
Heritage Services, and author of Historic Fort York. Carl will guide us
through the several venerable structures at the old fort, and he will
recount for us many a tale about the ups and downs of managing a restored
historic site.
After the tour, the fun continues as we will head up to the Banknote Pub at
the south-east corner of King and Bathurst streets. Here we will make some
history of our own!
This tour is limited to 20 AAO members, so if you want to attend, please
contact Andrea Robbins by Thursday May 13th to RSVP.
Andrea can be reached at [log in to unmask], or at (416)
327-1534.
Here is a handy link to show you how to get to the Fort:
http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/culture/fort_york.htm Be advised that if you
are travelling by TTC (specifically the Bathurst streetcar, southbound), it
is less of a hike to get off at the Bathurst Street Bridge and enter the
Fort from there.
Cheers!
