In recording Mark Twain‘s travel letters of 1891-1892, I was surprised to find… maybe I shouldn’t have been… that in some cases, his letters were edited in the various newspapers in which they appeared.
Words were changed...nothing significant...but I wonder if Clemens ever commented on the practice.
Anyone know??
