Active Records Management

The Records and Information Management Program at Mohawk College is
pleased to announce the following course, available Fall 2004 via
distance education.

Course description for OADMRM 101 – Active Records Management:
This 39-hour online course introduces the skills and techniques needed
to effectively manage and control active records in various formats.
Participants examine file plan development, organization, typical
filing systems, storage systems and equipment, and file maintenance
procedures. Enrollment is limited. This course is required for the
Records and Information Management Certificate.

Prerequisite: OADMRM100 Records and Information Management
Fundamentals. If you do not meet these prerequisites, please contact
the Program Manager.

You will need access to a Pentium class computer with Windows ’95 or
better on which you can install a copy of Centrinity’s FirstClass ®
software. You also need access to the Internet and a current WWW
browser in the same computer.

The fee for this course is $265.60, which includes the course manual.
Registration begins on August 9, 2004. The course starts on September
13, 2004 and ends December 10, 2004. The instructor for this course is
Christine Tarling of the City of Kitchener.

This course is part of a 6-course certificate in Records and
Information Management offered by Mohawk College in a distance
education format.
