Archives of Ontario offers two exciting opportunities to work as part of the
Collections Management team as an Archivist. Under guidance of the Senior
Coordinator, you will: appraise and acquire archival records, accession,
arrange/describe records using RAD/institutional standards, provide recorded
information management advice to ministry/agency program areas, review draft
records schedules for compliance to records scheduling guidelines, provide
reference services to clients/customers and participate in outreach
activities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Working knowledge of: archival principles/practices for
archival functions/processes, Rules for Archival Description, structure and
functions of the Ontario government, legislation/practices governing access
to records (FIPPA, Copyright Act); Working knowledge/experience in archival
appraisal, acquisition, arrangement and description, preservation and access
issues, recorded information management principles and practices and
information technology (word-processing/spreadsheets/ databases/Internet);
Demonstrated oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical,
customer service, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
ability to set priorities, provide direction to contract staff (e.g. summer
students) and to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
