The Presbyterian Church in Canada Archives

Note:  This project is contingent on the successful application for
funding through the Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions
Program.


Project Archivist - June 9 - August 29, 2003

Job description:  Under the direction of the Archivist/Records
Administrator, the successful candidate will appraise, arrange,
describe, scan and preserve approximately 700 photographs from the
Archives photographic collection.  Additionally, the individual will
select images that represent the historical development and heritage of
The Presbyterian Church in Canada.  Using these images, the individual
will help to plan new thematic changes to our web-site exhibit, which
will showcase and highlight the collection to our researchers.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will be currently enrolled
in, or recently graduated from, an accredited university or college
archival/records program.  The individual should have previous
experience working with archival photographic collections, familiarity
using RAD, excellent research, writing and organizational skills, and
familiarity with DBTextworks.  Knowledge of the scanning process is
desired.  Some knowledge of the history and structure of The
Presbyterian Church in Canada would be beneficial.

Salary and benefits:  $16.00 per hour plus requisite benefits
