CITY OF KITCHENER
CORPORATE RECORDS CLERK
(3-month Temporary Position)

You will provide technical clerical work in the storage and retrieval of
City records.  The temporary Records Clerk's primary responsibilities are:

*       Process retrieval requests for inactive records from the City's
in-house records centres.
*       Transfer new inactive records to the City's in-house records centres
including physical movement of records boxes as well as all data entry into
the Corporate Records Management automated records management system.
*       Refile and interfile inactive records in the City's in-house records
centres.
*       Assist with the destruction of records in accordance with the City's
Records Retention By-Law and Schedule.
*       Maintain the Corporate Records Management automated records
management system.

Required qualifications:

*       Be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
*       Pass a medical examination if required.
*       Records management certificate or equivalent experience.
*       Minimum of 2 - 3 years records management experience.
*       Proven working knowledge of records management practices and
principles.
*       Working knowledge of automated records management systems preferably
with barcode technology.
*       Exceptionally strong customer service skills and the ability to work
well with a wide variety of people.
*       Ability to carry out multiple projects simultaneously within
established deadlines and with minimal supervision.
*       Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
*       Excellent personal computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (e.g.,
Word, Excel, etc.).
*       Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repetitively as well as climb
ladders.
*
*       Additional qualifications:
*       Archives and/or library training and/or experience would be an
asset.

Salary Range:   $14.85/hr - $18.56/hr (35 hour week)
