For those interested in 19th U.S. economic thought, the University of
Michigan's "Making of America" web site may be interest. While the site is
strongest in education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion,
and science and technology, it does contain a number of economics texts.
The site includes both books and journal articles, scholarly and
"popular." Of interest to historians of economics are complete fascimile
copies of works such as Amasa Walker's _The science of wealth_, George
Tucker's _Political economy for the people_, and Horace Greeley's _Essays
designed to elucidate the science of political economy_. These works are
not available in the McMaster Archive (or elsewhere, to my knowledge).
The collection appears quite strong on articles and books related to
slavery and economics, labour, and household economics.

There is a good search engine for the site, and an updated version of the
site is currently being tested.
