Perhaps a good source to inspect would be Peter McNamara's _Political
economy and statesmanship: Smith, Hamilton, and the foundation of the
commercial republic_. DeKalb:	Northern Illinois University Press, 1998.
McNamara is mostly concerned to state the differences between these two
political economists, but in places he does touch upon the question of
influence.
