THE LUDWIG M LACHMANN RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP 
 
Salary up to stlg29, 648 inclusive of LW. 
 
The London School of Economics and Political Science is seeking to fill 
the Ludwig M Lachmann Research Fellowship, a research post in 
commemoration of the late Professor Lachmann. 
 
The successful candidate will have a record of excellence in research in 
the field of economics, including the philosophical aspects of economics. 
He or she will be expected to have completed a doctorate in a relevant 
area. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with an 
interest in the themes of hermeneutics and/or the "Austrian School of 
Economics". 
 
The Research Fellow will be expected during his or her period of tenure to 
complete a piece of work forming the basis of a publication. 
 
Appointment will be from 1 October 1999, or as soon as possible 
thereafter, for a period of up to three years. The appointment may be made 
on a flexible working arrangement. 
 
In assessing the starting salary, consideration will be given to 
qualifications and experience.
