CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

                           SCOTIABANK GROUP ARCHIVES:
                               CONTRACT ARCHIVIST

 The  Scotiabank  Group  Archives  is  an  information  centre maintained by the
 Scotiabank  Group  to protect, preserve & facilitate the use of permanent-value
 records  in all media. Exercising initiative and judgement in responding to the
 frequent  unusual  situations  that arise in a research facility, the candidate
 should  be a team player, with excellent oral and written communication skills,
 who has demonstrated experience in processing confidential archival records.

 This  13  week  contract, running from January 28, 2002 to April 26, 2002, will
 involve  the  processing  of  archival  records for compliance with the Federal
 Personal  Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act as defined by the
 Scotiabank  Employee  Privacy  Code.  This  assignment  requires the ability to
 perform clerical tasks quickly and accurately for extended periods of time.

 Candidates  should  submit a formal resume and covering letter along with three
 references.  At  least  one  reference  must  be able to verify the candidate's
 ability  to  perform  clerical tasks quickly for an extended period of time. At
 least one reference must be able to verify the candidate's ability to work with
