Scott- Sorry if this has already been recommended, but you should  
take a look at _The New Palgrave: A Dictionary of Economics_. Also,  
and this may not be well-known (not only to you but to others on this  
list who might be interested), the _New Palgrave_ specific issue on  
_Capital Theory_ contains an entry that did not make it into the original  
_*New* Palgrave_.  That entry is called "Quantity of Capital" and is  
authored by Pierangelo Garegnani.  It is a 78 or so page entry that is a  
very important piece of work on issues that are relevant to your  
interests.  There are also other important entries on "Debates in capital  
theory," on Austrian capital theory (e.g. "Roundabout methods of  
production"), lots related to the capital controversies (reswitching,  
reverse capital deepening, and more), a very classic piece on the  
"Humbug Production function" (for those not familiar with Shaikh's  
original articles), and a good piece by Harald Hagemann on the  
"Internal rate of return" that Scott might find interesting especially for  
the issue of the "truncation theorem."  In addition to the entries  
themselves, Scott (and others) might find the bibliographies helpful.
