Hello Eastern Chapter and AAO Members

The City of Ottawa is at it again and we need your help. The City is looking
at drastically cutting back its' budget once again and Ottawa's archives and
museums are at risk.

The feedback we are hearing re: city budget consultations is not looking
good for Heritage & Arts.

Please take the time to fill out a work book found at the urls below. These
are anonymous forms and really do not take much time to fill out.

Reports are that only 600 work books have been filled out to date! If you
have not already done so I urge you to take 5 minutes out of your day and
complete the on-line work book and indicate that you support continued
funding to Heritage & Arts. The work book can be found at:

http://www.ottawa.ca/inside_govt/budget/budget_2005/workbook_en.shtml
(English)

http://www.ottawa.ca/inside_govt/budget/budget_2005/workbook_fr.shtml
(Français)

This is your opportunity to have your say. We can make an impact on City
Council if we all act before the deadline of Thursday October 14 at
midnight.

In light of the front-page article in today's Ottawa Citizen that reports
that in a poll of 679 residents - "In cultural services, including arts &
heritage, a strong majority of 353 residents preferred less municipal
funding" it is vital for the entire Heritage community and our supporters to
weigh in with their opinions & expressions of support.

Please circulate this message amongst your friends and associates who are
interested in saving our local Heritage.

Regards,

Jane Boyko
President, Eastern Chapter
