Lakehead University is a comprehensive university of 7,400 students and
1,600 faculty and staff. With seven faculties, we are also the West
Campus of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Reporting to the
Head, Collections Development, you will be responsible for the ongoing
development and management of our library archives and special
collections including the review and development of policies and
procedures in accordance with current archival practices.

You have a Master's degree in archival studies or library/information
science with specialization in archives together with one to two years'
experience. You have expertise in applying the rules of archival
description and an understanding of relevant legislation as well as
current trends and issues affecting academic archives. You have strong
planning and organizational
skills and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job. A
working knowledge of Finnish would be an asset. This is a continuing
half-time appointment and subject to budgetary approval.
