Interne(x)t: Challenges and Opportunities for Archives in a Networked World

Call for Proposals for Sessions to be Presented at the
AAO Conference 2002, St. Catharines, Ontario


The Archives Association of Ontario is pleased to announce that AAO
Conference 2002 will be held at Brock University, St. Catharines, June
19-23, 2002.

The theme of this year's conference is Interne(x)t: Challenges and
Opportunities for Archives in a Networked World.  The conference theme is
meant to provide a forum for issues relating to archives and the Internet.
Conference sessions will explore the challenges and opportunities presented
by the Internet in terms of service delivery, promotion, outreach, and the
future of record-keeping.  Possible topic areas include (but are not limited
to):

*       Archives and e-commerce
*       CAIN
*       outreach through virtual exhibitions
*       representing archives in online finding-aid systems
*       issues relating to digitization
*       Web pages as archival records

The AAO Conference 2002 Program Committee invites you to submit proposals
for consideration for next year's conference in St. Catharines.   Please see
below for submission details.
Submitting Proposals

The Program Committee encourages submissions for session proposals.
Sessions may be either:

*       traditional sessions with one, two or three individuals speaking on
a related topic
*       panel discussions on an issue of relevance to the conference theme

Please indicate the overall purpose of the session, its intended audience, a
description of the topic areas to be covered
